A used vehicle can look great in a listing and still be hiding expensive problems. A pre-purchase inspection gives you an independent mechanical look at the vehicle before you commit.
Why an inspection matters
The goal is not to find a perfect used vehicle. It is to understand what you are buying. Existing leaks, worn suspension, brake concerns, warning codes, maintenance needs and signs of prior damage can all change whether the asking price makes sense.
What should be checked
A useful inspection looks beyond the paint. The engine, transmission and drivetrain, brakes, steering, suspension, tires, fluids, electrical systems and visible underbody condition should all be considered.
